Ah, going public
I have decided to take my rants and coments public so we don't have to keep repeating ourselves. This arises out of the fun flame war I've been having. So onward and forward.
Religion need not have anything whatsoever with morals. If one wants the benefits of civilized society, then it behooves one to follow the secular rules. I help cooperate with others, both locals and with society at large at large so that I may reap a net gain.
What if you cared not for the benifits of civilized society? What if you just define success as power? The moral code does not originate based on the benifits of civilized society, the benifits of civilized society are a function of that society having morals. No morals, no society, no benifits. Its quite simple, the system you describe is degenerate, and tends towards chaos. Simple thermodynamics, call it sociodynamics.
Looking for more eternal life everywhere! Along with my circus troupe (3 girls) and beautiful ringmaster (my helpmeet). Please excuse the ADHD or Dyslexia.
